Arthur

The good news is that he is found. The not knowing had been horrible.

BUT the poor cat has been in the wars. The sweet man who brought him back said that his injuries were due to a trap. Totally illegal but used by some (I hesitate to call them people) to protect their hen houses.

After another trip to the vet where she operated he has had to have one back leg amputated and lost a toe from the other back leg. The vet says he'll be fine on three if he survives the infection in the other which he seems to be fighting well.

We have also had a visit from the countryside police - I can't remember the long french name - who were also appalled and strode off to locate the nearest hen houses.

  1. Oh, poor Arthur and poor you, Rosie! That's dreadful. Grrr!!! He'll certainly manage very well on three, but he shouldn't have to. I do hope the police find the culprits.

  2. Poor Arthur! And you must be torn between relief at having him back and fury at the filth who set the trap.
Was it the garde chasse who called? They are charged with protection of wildlife and regulation of hunting, etc. and the ones I came across were really good guys.
    Fingers crossed for Arthur.

  3. I am sorry to hear that Arthur has been in the wars but glad to hear he is doing well. I had 3 legged dog and you would never know he was missing a hind leg. He was as active as any other dog. The only thing that was odd. was when he had a pee he would not lift the stump, he used to always end up on his two front leg. It was quite funny to watch but he seemed quite happy! Diane

  5. So sorry for poor Arthur but I think finding, even if they have died, is better than never knowing what happened. Especially as he may well survive and we shall keep fingers crossed that he is OK.

  9. So sorry-- at least you don't have to worry about him while you are gone. Bon voyage, and here's hoping that was the last of the bad patch...
