We do get a lot of it here in the tourist areas and I do understand that times are hard and people are desperate to earn money, but on the whole it's not aggressive so I too would find your experience intimidating.Ayakhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16903896106779269050noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2298010393460618333.post-39035859371937090222013-02-26T11:40:58.731+01:002013-02-26T11:40:58.731+01:00Rosie - I didn't know that you'd lived in ...Rosie - I didn't know that you'd lived in Hong Kong and Singapore..in that case, I think I would probably struggle too! I was going to say that I didn't mind the pestering but that's not true..I think it's more a case of I got used to it...but it wasn't aggressive. I think, like you, that is the thing I wouldn't like. Weird that it's not mentioned...mind you, I guess they don't want to put people off. Thanks for sharing this...it has really made me think twice about whether I do want to visit and I'm really not sure anymore!

C xCarolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12327016337976942530noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2298010393460618333.post-77121756468802855302013-02-25T13:26:45.638+01:002013-02-25T13:26:45.638+01:00Carol, I've ALWAYS wanted to go to. Him Outdoors didn't mind it as much, but I felt threatened. It interests me that no-one mentions it when you talk to them about Marrakech or read stuff online before you go. But a couple of people we've talked to since say 'oh yes, we found that too'. I wonder if I would cope better having lived in Thailand and experienced that kind of 'pestering' (for want of a better word) before. Hmmm...food for thought!

C xCarolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12327016337976942530noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2298010393460618333.post-88006977864730653182013-02-24T15:08:10.686+01:002013-02-24T15:08:10.686+01:00I suppose because we're happy to pay for what ...I suppose because we're happy to pay for what we want and distinctly unhappy about being, in effect, propositioned.Helen devrieshttp://asurfeitofpalfreys.wordpress.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2298010393460618333.post-83935768280725581882013-02-24T11:39:40.442+01:002013-02-24T11:39:40.442+01:00My sister in law said she'd had the same exper...My sister in law said she'd had the same experience in Cairo, India, Istanbul.
